Matthew Ingram

Matt began playing the euphonium aged 12 in the Croydon Citadel Young Person’s Band of the Salvation Army. He began lessons aged 14 and went on to study further with former Euphonium Player of the Year, Derick Kane.

During this time, Matt played Euphonium in a variety of ensembles including Croydon Citadel band, Croydon Youth Wind Orchestra and the Territorial Youth band of the Salvation Army.

He moved north to Sheffield aged 19 to study music at University, Matt was very privileged to start lessons with the renowned international euphonium soloist Michael Dodd and jumped at the chance to audition for Carlton Main band where he looks forward to his first contest win!

A keen Croquet enthusiast, Matt is keen to see the initiation of the world’s first inter-brass-band croquet league. (watch this space!!! Maybe it could be added to the entertainment for Brass in Concert????)
